HIGH SCHOOL WORKSHOP!

When? � May 3rd from 10:30a.m.- 12:30 p.m.
Where? - R.O.C.K. Solid, 376 New Berlin Rd. Jacksonville, FL.

How? Preregistration required. Cost is $5.00 per person .

Here�s what you�ll learn!
1. Credit - what is a credit and how do I accumulate them and how many are required for high school graduation and college admission.
2. Scholarship info (Bright Futures, etc.) .
3. What is a transcript and how do I do one? Examples will be available.
4. What if I don�t �feel� qualified to teach a subject? .
(i.e., math, sciences, etc.) - Discussion of tutors, co-ops, Florida Virtual School, etc.) .
5. Can my middle schooler earn credits, if so, how?
6. Question/answer session. .
7. Game plan - planning your high school years .

This workshop is presented by Joanne Mastronicola, a home schooling mother whose oldest child is now in college with the benefit of three scholarships. Her second daughter graduated from Aveda in Tallahassee, and Joanne is currently home schooling her son who is in 12th grade. . For several years, she has worked with high school student paperwork in Eunice Christian School , a private school composed of only home schooled students and has been teaching in a high school co-op. Come glean from her experience!!

Her book "Piecing Together the High School Puzzle� is proving to be the best resource for home schooling your high schooler in Florida!

May 2nd Friday night 7:00 p.m.- 9:30 p.m

Our next "Getting Started with Homeschooling" class will be held on April 11th at 7:00 PM. The classes last 2 1/2 hours. They are held at our store and the cost is $2.00 per person. This class is geared for parents. Should the need to arise to bring your children, due to limited space, they will also be charged $2.00 per child.

Information on support groups, curriculum, laws, and many other things are shared during the 2 1/2 hours.

Counselors are:

Tracey Cavender is the mother of two boys, Casey age 20 and Shaun age 25. She home schooled them for 11 years. Tracey's passion for families with older home schooled children led her to found Oasis Home School Co-op in 1998 and Oasis Christian Academy in 2000. She has had the honor of helping numerous families home school their children successfully through high school and on to whatever God has called them to do.

Pamela Knopf is a seasoned home school mom and is currently the principal of Global Impact Ministries Academy, a private school that provides cooperative classes through the 12^th grade. She has earned her bachelors degree in Christian Education and is currently working on her Masters and PhD. Pamela is also a Certified Temperament Therapist as well as a former FPEA District Director.

Joanne Mastronicola has home schooled for 17 years. She currently has two daughters attending college, both of whom earned scholarships. Her son is a senior in high school. She has worked with Eunice Christian School students for many years and has authored the book Piecing Together the High School Puzzle.

Fee - $30 per hour, due at time of service. (Appointments scheduled for one hour unless otherwise requested.)

*We will prepare and provide you with an electronic copy of your student's transcript. As the homeschooling parent, you are still responsible for validating your student's credits and signing the transcript attesting to them. We are happy to advise you in this area.
